Are you doing the most?

Slow down. Take time.

Now, this can be used for anything really. Are you doing the most in life, at work, with your friends, in your relationship etc? Which one triggers you the most because then you'll know if you're doing the most or not. I wonder if any of you are like me cause I'm always doing the most when it comes to life in general. I feel the need to always try and do more than what I need to do and half this never works out for me.

Is it normal to always think that what you do will either be never enough or that you just feel like you have to go the extra mile all the time? I don't have a prime up to date example, but when I was at work having a lunch break didn't exist for me. In my head, I thought that getting the best out of my working day was to not lose any time and to do as much as possible when given so. A lot of my days were spent eating my lunch in front of my computer. How could I not see that that was so bad for me?

I always thought that this is the way forward but now I know that you need that time out away from your desk. You're not paid for your lunch so why are you working through it? I used to think that all the time, but I tried to be the best that I can be I thought that meant working every second that I was present at work. I learnt the hard way that this isn't useful at all and I'm glad that I have a new mindset now. Employers are serious about this. They don't play around when it's time to take a break. I didn't listen.

Take your own advice and stop doing the most when it isn't necessary. There is no need to go up and above when not required (unless for like a job interview or internship etc then do the most as you want to stand out). It's important to find a healthy balance of doing what's needed from you without overexerting yourself. It can take a while to figure out the correct formulation but when you got it, preserve it.
