Yup, I'm gonna start vlogging.

So within the last few days, I've posted on my social media accounts that I'm going to YouTube/Google HQ in London in a few weeks. How you ask? Well, lemme get to the point. Back in November/December 2017, I attended a vlogging workshop with Media Trust on behalf of my place of work. The day consisted of learning the correct vlogging techniques, how to film, edit and upload all from the comfort of my iPhone 7. Who knew that the back camera on 4K mode is fantastic??

The aim of the session was to learn tips and tricks in order to create a short 1-minute vlog for their Vlogstar Challenge. I’ve created vlogs in the past but they weren't as good as vlogs on YouTube today. This was going to be a new experience for me and I was really looking forward to seeing what the workshop had to offer. I chose to talk about competitive cheerleading for my topic.

At the end of the day, I submitted the 1-minute video that I made during the workshop which you can see here. I'm not 100% happy with the quality of the video, however, the content is quite decent and I was more than happy to submit it without hesitation. Now, let's talk about YouTube/Google HQ. So this competition has always been in the back of my mind, but typical me didn't take any extra time to find out when the submissions deadline was and if I was selected to move onto the next stage.

Well, just my luck that at the start of last week I thought I got the email confirming that I was part of the 150 people selected out of 2,000 entries to go to the workshop at Google. Silly me didn't read the email properly and it really just said: "save the date we'll be announcing who got selected soon". So after getting excited, I had to calm down and await a further email telling me if I got in or not. Well, you guessed it. I got in! I go to YouTube/Google in a few weeks and I'm looking forward to it.

So, now I vlog. [https://youtu.be/OpO21q9rKHk]

As mentioned in the video, this is the first step of my Vlogstar Challenge. I am aware that I made a few mistakes, but it's the first one so bear with me. I'm feeling good about this and I'm looking forward to bringing you with me on this journey. That's all for now. Don't forget to like, comment and subscribe! ❤️
