Thanking God for another Christmas.

When I write I'm thanking God, I really am. A lot of loved ones haven't made it to Christmas Day this year and I always count myself lucky that I have. 2016 has been quite a year. A lot has happened and I'm not looking to go into it all again, but I do want to sit back and take in everything that has happened within these last 12 months.

First and foremost, I'm alive and well. That was my New Year's resolution for 2016 and it will stay the same for the next new years to come. It's heartbreaking knowing that so many people will not be passing through to 2017 so I'm forever thankful that I happen to be one of the many people that do.

Christmas is always a joyous season for me as it means that I get to be surrounded by my family and friends. When it comes to Christmas, I'm a lover of giving gifts. I love buying presents for the people that are important to me and I always make sure to tailor each gift to the recipient's personality. I'm more of a gift-giver than a gift-receiver and I will forever remain this way.

Getting to the point that I wanted to cover, being grateful for being present at Christmas this year is what I'll treasure dearly. God has other plans for me as he has kept me here on earth. I don't mean to make this post so deep, but it's what I always think about close to Christmas every year.

I guess I'm just so future-forward and I'm so grateful as to how far I've come and how far I'm going to go. Just to round up my year, 2016 has been an interesting one. At first, I called it the "Year of L's" purely because I have gone through so many losses compared to wins, but having an optimistic mindset I guess I needed the reality check of the year that was 2016 so that I can fulfill my true potential within 2017. I'm looking forward to the new year... are you?

See you in 2017!

"Christmas is the spirit of giving without having a thought of getting."
