Family IS Important.

FAMILY is a big thing to me.

I know too many people who aren't appreciative of what they have. I grew up in a two-parent household, which then reduced to a one parent-household. I'm happy living with just my Mum & my two siblings.

SHOUTOUT to all the single mums out there!

I am still in contact with my Dad & that's great, not many people stay in touch with the other parent that left home and of course that is devastating to hear. I would never want to change what I have for the world!

I love my family & all the people in my outer family circle. How amazing is it to say that I have cousins who live in New Zealand?! It's so surreal knowing that even though I've only met them twice, I still have such a strong amount of love for them. Communication is key when it comes to family! I know I struggled with this badly last year & my family came together to support me through my tough days. We spent from April to September working alongside each other. This meant actually TALKING to each other and not just having small conversations each day.

I am so thankful for last year because it put me in a really good place with my mum & siblings before I left for Uni. My brother really helped me out & I used to think that we could never have deep conversations about everything. All it took to get that point was to actually sit down together and open up to one another. Sure a few tears were shed but that's how you know you were having such RAW conversations with each other. We were honest and I've never felt so free in my life.

I treasure my life and the people around me. I had to learn how to open up and never again will I hold back. What I want you to take back from this post is to make sure you make time for your family. Don't hold back because you don't know what you're missing out on.

"You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them."
